UVB (ultraviolet light B)

Description
UVB is ultraviolet light B and is a form of phototherapy used to treat psoriasis. There is a narrow and wide band type of UVB. Studies have revealed the narrow band to be more effective. The UVB penetrates the skin and slows down the growth of skin cells that cause psoriasis. The treatments are done on a regular basis and can be given in the office or in the home.

Common Complications
The most common side effects are nausea, itching, and redness.These side effects usually resolve with further treatments.
