Tympanoplasty (Ear drum repair)

Description
Tympanoplasty is an eardrum repair. The surgeon repairs a damaged or perforated ear drum and sometimes the adjacent small bones of the middle ear. Typically a graft from a vein or muscle sheath is used, but occasionally an artificial material is required. Infection and trauma are the most common causes of ear drum damage.
