Tympanometry

Description
Measures how well the eardrum (tympanic membrane) moves. A tool is inserted into the ear that delivers a puff of air to measure the eardrum movement. Fluid behind the eardrum can prevent the eardrum from moving normally. An infection (otitis media) or a malfunctioning eustachian tube can cause abnormal fluid build up. A hole in the eardrum can also cause abnormal movement of the eardrum.

Cost
Check back again, iTriage will soon be listing cost information for procedures provided by Healthcare Blue Book.
