Transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (TENS, pain management)
Description
A medical device using mild electric currents that are applied to some areas of the skin by a small power pack connected to two electrodes which is sometimes helpful for treating chronic pain.

Common Complications
Infection and pain at the insertion site. Some patients continue to have chronic pain.
