Testis Microdissection

Description

Description

This procedure is reserved for men with low levels of available sperm. An incision is made in the scrotal skin of the testicle and a microscope is used to find testicular tissue that is producing usable sperm. Since this technique typically produces only small numbers of sperm these sperm must be used within 24 hours of being gathered.
