Sclerotherapy (collapse varicose veins)

Description
A procedure to remove unsightly spider veins and varicose veins. A chemical called a sclerosing solution is injected into the veins causing them to collapse and contract. The procedure is best suited for medium sized spider veins and larger since a needle must be inserted into the vein. It may require multiple treatments for the desired effect.

Common Complications
Scarring, bleeding, infection, skin numbness, damage to deeper structures, skin bumps, skin puckering, skin discoloration, skin ulceration and pain.
