Radiofrequency nerve ablation

Description
Electrical current produced by a radio wave to reduce the transmission of pain signals along a nerve. This can be done in the neck or back. The pain relief can last up to one year. The skin over the area is numbed with a local anesthetic. Using x-ray guidance a small electrode is inserted to produce the electric current directly to the nerve causing the pain.
