PUVA treatment (UVA and psoralen)

Description
PUVA is UVA (ultraviolet light A) combined with the medication psoralen to treat psoriasis. Psoralen can be applied topically or taken as a pill. UVA alone is not effective. PUVA works the best on gutate psoriasis, stable plaque psoriasis, and psoriasis involving the soles of the feet and palms of the hands.

Common Complications
The most common side effects are nausea, itching, and redness.These side effects usually resolve with further treatments.
