Description

Description

A diagnostic procedure to image the hepatic and common bile ducts. Contrast is injected into the liver or bile duct, and the ducts are then x-rayed to find the point of obstruction. Since there are less invasive ways to image the biliary tree (MRI or CT scan) it is usually only done to drain a blocked a biliary system.
