Description
Percutaneous endoscopic laser discectomy is a type of percutaneous discectomy where the surgeon uses a laser to remove the disc material. A small laser is inserted through the skin guided by x-rays. The procedure is done to relieve the pain of a herniated disc.

Common Complications
Complications include chronic pain and failure of the procedure requiring a repeat procedure. All surgery comes with the risk of infection and blood clots. General anesthesia runs the risk of allergic reactions or breathing problems.
