Myelogram (dye injected around spinal canal)

Description
A diagnostic procedure to detect abnormalities of the spine, spinal cord, or surrounding structures, involving the injection of dye around the spinal canal.

Common Complications
Infection, pain, bleeding outside the spinal cord, and injury of a nerve can occur. A headache from a spinal leak called a spinal or postural headache can also occur.
