Myectomy surgery (removal of muscle)

Description
Surgical procedure to remove a small amount of muscle. Surgery can be performed on the heart, fibroids or eye. Surgical method may vary depending on the location of the procedure on the body.

Common Complications
The surgery can result in damage to nerves and blood vessels, post-operative pain, infection or blood clots of the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolus). Patients can infrequently have bad reactions to the general anesthesia including allergic reactions and very rarely a heart attack or stroke.
