Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA)

Description
MRI is magnetic resonance imaging, a special imaging test that does not use xrays. MRA is a diagnostic procedure using magnetic resonance imaging used to visualize blood vessels in the neck, brain and other parts of the body. It can be helpful in detecting abnormalities in the brain and brainstem such as aneurysm or stroke.

Cost

Common Complications
Sometimes the test is performed with a dye called gadolinium. Gadolinium has been associated with a serious skin and connective tissue disease called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF). It appears patients with kidney disease are at increased risk of developing NSF after gadolinium.
