Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)

Description
A surgical procedure involving the removal of tissue using a hot wire loop. The most common body area LEEP is used is the cervix of the uterus. The procedure is done to both remove abnormal cells of the cervix and also provides a sample for microscopic analysis to diagnosis possible cancer.
