Laparoscopy (thin lighted tube)

Description
A procedure involving the insertion of a thin, lighted tube (laparoscope) through the abdominal wall to inspect the organs and tissue inside of the abdomen.

Common Complications
Any surgery can result in post-operative pain, infection or blood clots of the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolus). Inadvertent injury to normal surrounding structures can occur with the procedure.
