Knee arthroscopy

Description
A tube with a camera is inserted into the knee joint to identify any damage to the bone, cartilage, meniscus, ligaments or joint capsule. Many times the repair of the damaged tissue can be performed at the same time. This procedure can be done under general anesthesia or regional anesthesia.

Common Complications
Complications include injury to the joint, ligaments, cartilage, nerves or blood vessels. All surgery comes with the risk of infection and blood clots. General anesthesia runs the risk of allergic reactions or breathing problems.
