Hysteroscopy (camera examination of the uterus)

Description
A hysteroscopy is a procedure to look at the inside of the uterus. A small tube with a camera on the end is inserted through the vagina into the cervix. The doctor can then stop areas of bleeding, remove small fibroids and open up blocked fallopian tubes.

Common Complications
Injury to the cervix or uterus causing pain and bleeding. Rarely the uterus can be punctured.
