Hydrogen Breath Test

Description
A test used to detect lactose intolerance or excessive bacteria growth in the intestine. After fasting for 12 hours the patient breathes into a balloon to measure the amount of hydrogen. The patient then drinks a sweet solution and similar breath samples are taken every 15-120 minutes to measure the amount of hydrogen.
