Surgery performed to reattach an amputated finger. The amputated finger should be wrapped in clean moist dressing (preferably sterile gauze) and placed in a plastic bag and brought to the hospital or doctor as quickly as possible.

Common Complications

General complications of any surgery include bleeding, infection, blood clots and reactions to anesthesia. General anesthesia runs the risk of allergic reactions or breathing problems. Additional complications include failure of reattachment.
