External beam radiation (radiation cancer treatment)

Description
A therapy that uses a specialized machine to aim high-energy radiation at a cancer. It is also called external radiation.

Common Complications
It is not uncommon for surrounding organs to be damaged during the therapy and the complications experienced are dependent on the area receiving the radiation treatment.
