ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate)

Description
ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) is a test that measures overall inflammation in the body. It is only a screening test which means that it cannot diagnose a particular disease. If the ESR is high the doctor will look for reasons why such as cancer, autoimmune diseases or other inflammatory disorders.
