Esophagram (Xray images of espohagus)

Description
A series of x-rays of the esophagus after the patient drinks a solution containing barium. The barium coats and outlines the esophagus on the x-ray and can be helpful in detecting cancer and other abnormalities of the esophagus.

Common Complications
Rarely patients can choke on the barium causing a lung infection.
