Esophageal manomemetry (Esophageal pressure measurement)

Description
A test to measure the pressure inside the lower part of the esophagus. The test determines if the esophagus muscle is contracting and relaxing normally. The study is done to diagnose swallowing problems and chest pain.

Common Complications
Injury including perforation of the esophagus. Most patients are sedated and some can have bad reactions to the anesthesia.
