Ductal lavage (collect cells from milk ducts in breast)

Description
A procedure to collect cells from milk ducts in the breast using a hair-size catheter inserted into the nipple. Salt water is infused into the duct to help remove cells for the detection of breast cancer.

Common Complications
Infection. Perforation of the duct can occur which usually heals on its own.
