Da Vinci Robotic Surgery

Description
A surgical procedure assisted by three robotic arms that perform the surgery with a variety of surgical tools. The robotic arms give surgeons more intricate motion and tool control for complex surgeries. The Da Vinci Endoscopic Instrument Control System® is used for a variety of surgeries, including general gallbladder and reflux disease surgery, prostate surgery, hysterectomy and heart surgery.

Common Complications
Surgery can result in post-operative pain, infection or blood clots of the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolus). Patients can infrequently have bad reactions to the general anesthesia including allergic reactions and very rarely a heart attack or stroke.
