Cystometrogram (CMG)

Description

Description

A cystometrogram measures the functioning of the sphincter and bladder and measures a patient's ability to store urine and urinate. A catheter is inserted into a patient's bladder and fluid is inserted to fill the bladder. Pressure measurements are made to determine the bladder's ability to store, contract, and expel urine. The test is generally done when people have problems with urinary retention and/or incontinence.
