Cosmetic cheek surgery (Cheek implant)

Description
The most common type of cheek cosmetic surgery is a cheek implant or cheek augmentation. The procedure consists of building up the cheeks with silicone or other material to improve the cosmetic contours of the face.

Common Complications
Complications include blood clots, infection, areas of numbness and unsatisfactory results. If a foreign material is used such as silicone the patient's body can reject the material causing multiple symptoms and excessive scarring. Allergic reactions or breathing problems related to general anesthesia.
