Chest MRI with dye
Description
MRI is magnetic resonance imaging, a special imaging test that does not use xrays. This procedure provides very detailed images of the chest, heart, lungs, esophagus and mediastinum. This procedure can help identify cancers, infections, and abnormal fluid collections. An intravenous dye called gadolinium is sometimes used to obtain better images.

Common Complications
Gadolinium has been associated with a serious skin and connective tissue disease called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF).
