The use of drugs to treat cancer. These drugs generally kill tumor cells preferentially over normal cells.

Common Complications
The loss of one's hair, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are common. At times a patient's blood cells are damaged resulting in low red blood cells (anemia), easy bleeding from low platelets (thrombocytopenia), and increased infections from a low white blood cell count (neutropenia).
