Cervical spine CT (CAT) with dye

Description
A test using special xrays that provides detail images of the bones and spinal cord. The bones of the neck make up the cervical spine. A CT scan of the cervical spine can identify muscles, nerves, discs, bones, and the spinal cord. This test can identify broken bones, infections, arthritis, cancers, herniated discs, spinal cord injuries, and nerve damage of the neck. Dye (contrast) is given in the vein to provide better images of the blood vessels and other structures. Contrast is most helpful in disorders such as infections, trauma and cancer.
