Description
A diagnostic procedure to x-ray the esophagus. The x-ray pictures are taken after the person drinks a solution that contains barium which coats and outlines the esophagus on the x-ray. It is also called an esophagram. This procedure can help detect cancer and other abnormalities of the esophagus, stomach, and small intestine.
