Arthroplasty (joint surgery)
Description
Arthroplasty is a surgery that improves the movement of the joint. The most common type is to replace the affected joint with an artificial joint. Other techniques involve removing bone and scar tissue around the joint to increase movement.

Common Complications
Complications include bleeding, infection, blood clots and reactions to anesthesia. Other complications are dependent on the joint being repaired.
