Antibody (antibody test)

Description
An antibody is a type of protein the body makes to attack a foreign substance in the body such as a bacteria or virus. Antibodies are also made against chemicals, pollen and other allergic substances. The body's immune system produces these antibodies and they are necessary for an allergic reaction to occur. The level of antibodies in the body can also be used to detect the presence of disease.
