Abdominal Pelvic CT (CAT) scan with dye
Description
A test using special xrays that provides detail images of the organs in the abdomen and pelvis. This test can identify diseases of the appendix, liver, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, uterus, ovaries, bladder, stomach and intestines. Intravenous dye (contrast) is used to obtain better images of the blood vessels and internal organs.

Common Complications
There is a small risk of radiation. This risk is felt to be greater with babies and children. In some patients the dye can cause allergic reactions and/or kidney damage.
