Description

Symptoms
Mouth pain, white patches in the mouth and tongue, pain with swallowing.

Tests
A history and physical exam will be performed. Frequently no tests are done. Microscopic evaluation and/or culture of mouth scrapings can be done.
Treatment
Antifungal mouthwash or lozenges are given. These are usually used for 5-10 days. If they don't work, other medication may be prescribed.
