Hormone Replacement Therapy

Description
The use of hormones (estrogen and progesterone) to treat the discomforts of menopause or to replace hormones lost after menopause. Some women may have side effects including: irregular vaginal bleeding, water retention, bloating, nausea, breast soreness, mood swings, and headaches. Changing the dosage or the form of HRT may help to reduce these side effects.

Symptoms
Irregular vaginal bleeding, water retention, bloating, nausea, breast soreness, mood swings, headaches.

Tests
A history and physical exam will be performed.
Treatment
Treatment includes changing the dose or form of the hormone therapy.
