Hematocele (Testicular Blood Clot)

Description
A blood clot caused by bleeding in the testicle. It is usually caused by bleeding into a hydrocele or from trauma to the testicle.

Symptoms
Pain in scrotum, swelling, bruising in scrotum.

Tests
A history and physical exam will be performed. Additional tests include an ultrasound.
Standard Workup
- CBC
- UA
- Ultrasound
Treatment
Treatment includes: scrotal elevation, warm compresses, and possibly evacuation of the bleeding.
