Description

Breast cancer is a cancer that starts in the cells of the breast in women and men. This is the second most common type of cancer in women. There are many different types of breast cancer with ductal carcinoma being the most frequent. Early detection and treatment is the key to successful treatment of this disease.

Symptoms

Mass, tenderness, skin puckering, discharge from breast, mass in armpit.

Tests

Tests

A history and physical exam will be performed. A mammogram, CT scan, MRI and/or Positron Emission Tomagraphy (PET) scan may be done to determine extent of the disease. A biopsy of the tumor and surrounding lymph nodes will be performed.

Treatment

Treatment
