Bacterial Infections

Description
Infections caused by bacteria that can involve almost any part of the body. The most common are urinary tract infections, pneumonia, and skin infections (cellulitis or abscess). Infections can be mild to life threatening.

Symptoms
Fever, vomiting, weakness, cough, painful urination, breathing problems, fainting, rash, diarrhea, painful skin mass or rashes.

Tests
A history and physical exam will be performed. Cultures will be taken to identify the bacteria and tests to determine the damage done by the infection.

- X-Ray
Treatment
The bacteria is identified and antibiotics are given either orally or intravenously depending on the seriousness of the infection, Reversal of any damage done by the bacteria is also undertaken.
