Abrasions

Description
A partial thickness injury of the skin, often from scraping it.

Symptoms
An abrasion causes pain and bleeding.

Tests
A simple examination of the abrasion is all that is needed.
Treatment
Cleaning and bandaging of the wound. If all the dirt is not removed an infection or permanent "tattooing" of the abrasion can occur.
